Chlamydia result (2.1.3)
Storyboard: Sexually Transmitted Infection (2.1)
Dr. Singh, a family physician at a walk-in clinic, recently assessed Hannah Lambert for a sexually transmitted infection. He sent swabs for Chlamydia and gonorrhoea to the lab three days ago.
Dr. Singh arrives at the clinic in the morning and logs into his EMR. He sees that he has lab results, among other information, to review. Dr. Singh looks at the list of results and selects to view the report for Hannah Lambert. He sees that the Chlamydia swab is positive and asks the office nurse to call Hannah in so that he can counsel her on this and prescribe treatment.
The nurse is able to reach Hannah on her cell phone. She explains the results are in and that Dr. Singh would like to chat with her about them. She transfers the call to the clinic receptionist who makes an appointment for Hannah in the clinic scheduling system. The nurse records in the EMR that Hannah was instructed to come in to see Dr. Singh.
Assumption
·Dr. Singh receives some sort of notice through his EMR of information to review
This health service follows upon the Chlamydia notification (see 2.1.2) and describes all the health service events taken during the physician sees the notification about the laboratory results.
Each health service event takes place during a same period of time (e.g. without cut of time), in presence or not of involved client; the health service events can be grouped in a health service encounter.
