EHR IP Summary

Description

This EHR Interoperability Profile describes the process for a user to access the EHRi System and retrieve a patient’s Event details.

EHRIP Get Event will use the communication step EHRCS13 Get Event to retrieve a patient’s event with all of its associated Events as a single logical record from the EHRi System. An EHRIP Get Event process may return multiple sub-events as a composite interaction.

The Get Event parameters and constraints will determine the type of patient event data that is retrieved from one or more of the following EHRi System repositories:

EHR Shared Care Record domain repository
DI Domain Repository
Drug Domain Repository
Lab Domain Repository
Public Health Domain Repository

The following is a list of example services that would use the generic “Get Event” type of interoperability profile pattern to retrieve patient clinical data.

The system that contains the jurisdictional EHR for this patient.

Preconditions

The user is already authenticated and authorized and logged into the EHRi System and has identified the patient
The service location id and the provider id that requested this process have been established in previous interactions.
The required Event is uniquely identified

Process Steps

User has selected the desired patient’s Event and proceeds with the following steps.
