Log on to the EHR system

The physician logs into the clinic’s EMR system.

The POS EMR system sends, to the EHRi system, a request to log on to the EHR System.

The user is authenticated and authorized to use the EHRi System.

EHRIP16 User Log On

The EHRi system returns, to POS system, an acknowledgment that the user has been logged on successfully.

The POS EMR system displays a successful EHRi system connection.

View the notifications list (in the current jurisdiction)

The physician accesses to the notifications section of the clinic’s EMR system.

The POS EMR system searches and does not find local notification.

The POS EMR system sends, to the EHRi system, a request to obtain notifications for this provider.

The EHRi system searches and finds a notification event (in the current jurisdiction), for this specific provider.

EHRIP12 List Events

(Event Type = Notification)

The EHRi system returns, to POS system, a list of notification events (with one event).

The POS EMR system receives and displays the notification list.

View the detail of notification (in the current jurisdiction)

The physician sees in the list a notification from the referred psychiatrist for his patient.

The physician selects this notification in the clinic’s EMR system.

The POS EMR system sends, to the EHRi system, a search request (with the key identifiers indicated in the notification event), to find the detail of this notification event.

The EHRi system searches and finds the events linked with the selected notification event (with the key identifiers indicated in the selected notification event).

EHRIP12 List Events

(Event Type = Notification ID)

The EHRi system returns, to POS system, a list of events linked with the notification event.

The POS EMR system displays the summary list of health service events linked with the notification event.

The physician looks at the summary list of health service events (linked with the notification event) and selects an event to see more detail.

The POS EMR system sends, to the EHRi system, a search request (with the key identifiers indicated in the selected health service event), to find the detail of the selected health service event.

The EHRi system searches and finds the detail of event in the selected health service event (with the key identifiers indicated in the selected health service event).

EHRIP13 Get Event

The EHRi system returns, to POS system, the detail of health service event.

The POS EMR system displays the detail of health service event.

The physician sees the consultation report with this information:

- Patient name,

- Patient birth date,

- History of present illness,

- Past psychiatric history,

- Past medical history,

- Provisional diagnosis,

- Allergies,

- Medications;

and views the correspondence from the psychiatrist.

Based on this report, the physician asks his nurse to call patient in for follow up.
