These services include:

• Key Management services to create and manage encryption keys for multiple purposes within the EHRi.
• Generic encryption services to encrypt and decrypt PHI or other security data, such as passwords during storage and use within the EHRi. This service maybe used to encrypt PHI stored in data bases, backup tapes, active storage or long term archives.
