1 Communication Step Summary

Description:

This EHR Communication Step will use jurisdiction, location, client and provider identifying information in the EHR Index to return a list of the selected patient's events.

Optional input parameters / search criteria for this Communication Step are:

• The type of Events required (e.g Lab Results)
• The identity of a Event Encounter other Events belong to
• A range of dates when these Events were created
• A maximum number of Events to be returned

3 Rationale

This Communication Step allows a health care provider, who has a patient's consent, to review a list of a number of patient's Events within a given date range for the purpose of finding recent clinical information related to the provider's current interaction with the patient.
