Communication Step Summary

Description:

This EHR Communication Step will use patient event information recorded in EHRi Domain Repository System (e.g. Drug, DI, Lab, Public Health) to create an entry in the EHR Index.

Example types of events that recorded in the EHR Index by this service are:
Lab Orders, Lab Results recorded in a JLIS
DI Reports, DICOM objects recorded in a DI domain system repository
Medications recorded in a Drug Information System
Immunizations recorded in an Immunization Registry

Index Event uses the “Focal Act” of an HL7 v3 message as the primary container of patient information indexed in the EHR Index.

This service will create a unique entry in the EHR Index for each newly created Event in an EHRi domain repository system using attributes derived from the original payload used to record the information including already established patient, user and location identifiers.

EHR Index Event uses the following attributes to create an EHR Index entry.

EHRi Client ID – resolved with Client Registry
Event ID - identifier of the event after it is recorded in an EHRi system repository
Focal Class ID – the unique id of the Focal Class of the message
Focal Act Author – the provider (person)
Focal Act Timestamp
Focal Act Status
Focal Act Language
Trigger Event Code
Focal Act Identifier consisting of:
- Act Mood
- Act Class Code
- Act Code
- Act ID – identifiers provided by POS
Event Data Location ID – (URI)
